No. No release date either. The only official comment was that this would be geared towards people wanting a "premium experience". Which I take as $$$$$.

Still, I'm making inquiries as to who can get one for me.

This article was released 11 hours ago. Gives some clues.

Edit: I just checked xe.com. £399 = $599 exactly. Sounds like kismet to me.

So it must use SteamVR and SteamVR supports Oculus rift in direct mode.

So can we run a DK2 in direct mode via SteamVR in 1.5???

Or am I putting 2+2 to make 42?

Until I get my hands on them I can't answer that. Perhaps the FDevs have as they have a unit in-house.

Does anyone have a Vive developer kit? Seems odd to put support into 1.5 for a HMD that no one has yet (so can't test properly). For all the faults of Oculus and dropping the VR ball on having the initiative, at least the were prepared to release the DK1 then DK2 so even Joe public could have a play.
