HTC Vive with eyeglasses

I've read the HTC is more generous with "eye room" than the Oculus; so that's the headset I'm currently looking at (will probably buy one at the end of the month).

So I was wondering if anyone is using the HTC Vive with eyeglasses? Are they comfortable? Do you have any issues? Etc etc.

Thanks for your feedbacks o7

I wear glasses and own Vive. If the glasses are not too big, they will fit in perfectly fine. The original mounting has cutouts made specifically for the glasses.

I recently changed my glasses to bit bigger ones and they just fit in and I can still play comfortably.

My previous glasses were of this kind:

I currently have ones like that:

If you're not wearing anything like that:

you'll be fine :)

It's really not that big a difference.
I own both original vive and rift.

I have been using my frames in the rift for over two years (-5 myopic)
And you could easily get a prescription lens insert for the price difference.

I don't know if the Vive or Oculus have domed lenses in the headset, but I suggest if anybody reading this has a WMR headset (namely the Lenovo Explorer), you should ignore the advice.

It has domed lenses inside the headset and your corrective lens will rub against the WMR lens and you may not even notice it. I ruined a pair of (teflon coated) glasses and almost the headset with scratches to both lenses.
Never once felt the glasses hitting the lenses while wearing them. I just noticed the smudging on my glasses that wouldn't rub out.

Vive does not have that problem, as you can move the compartment with lenses back and forth, so if you wear glasses and they touch the lenses you move them forward a notch and it's sorted. This obviously affects FoV, but it's not very noticeable TBH.

Good to know I'll be fine. :D *excited*

Thank you :)

I wear glasses with my Vive and it fits fine. I do find it a little uncomfortable but not terrible. Depending on your prescription, you may find that you don't actually need your glasses. I'd give it a go without your glasses and see how it looks.

I tried it on my mates PSVR, and it was rather blurry and adjusting things didn't help; but I'll try it both ways just to see. :)
