HUD colors

Because changing HUD colors requires changing game files, which we cannot do on the XB1.

Keep in mind that doing so also affects other elements in the game.

Nobody isn't.
...hey, I changed my Fallout 4 HUD to pretty much match Elite's. I have this forum skin in orange and black. Orange 4 life, I guess? ;-)

I wouldn't mind alt colours, but I'm really not sick of orange. I was rather surprised when I first got the game that all of the ship HUD elements are identical. It's fine from a game design POV, but it doesn't make any sense when you consider the manufacturers chose very distinct interior designs, yet somehow all agreed on a universal display. Not a major gripe, of course, but that uniformity bugs me more than only having one HUD colour.

The HUD is specified by the Pilot's Federation. They have to be identical, it's the law

Yay! Another HUD color thread! That means I get to say for the 37th time-

FD, I know it would be difficult, but I would gladly pay you for the ability to change my HUD color! Say..5$ a color? Deal? Ok good I look forward to seeing it implemented in 2.4 thanks a bunch!

... for $5 I would be in for at least 1 other color... maybe two... The wife does fly with me from time to time :D

Relieved to hear I'm not the only one who'd like to see some more versatility in the HUD appearance. For an old fart like me with equally old eyeballs, trying to read that orange from across the room, even on a 50" screen, is a real bear. I'd like to see a higher contrast color option, and perhaps the ability to bump up the font size a few points to make it easier to read at a distance. Put me down as very much in favor of this. [up]

The HUD is tied to a lot of other elements in the game, so it would require them to change the way the HUD works first. They're aware that people want it, but it's a complex issue.

It's not that complicated. Frontier is a low projects game industri, and the game the making money on is Rollercoaster. So due to money and numbers of hours work on ED, this change of HUD colour is not on the highest priority. It will come in the future as a pay option in the store.

Oh I didn't realize we had a senior member of the FDEV team here, who can tell us exactly how complex it isn't, and that it definitely will be an option in the future, and that it will be paid. What a treat.

We don't, how shall I explain this, I due know how software works and can even write my own programs or even change graphic texture inside a game. I even had a job offer from one of the biggest it software in the world. People I know are in the gaming industries and have/had their own firm, making games that had been in the top selling. In other word in the high end project. I even think they have more money on their private bank account than Frontier have as a company...

End of discussion

Oh boy, internet boasting.

How shall I explain this? People already change the colors on the HUD in the game. However, it's tied to other various elements. So, as I explained before, no, it's not a simple fix. Nobody cares how much money you say you have.

Start by asking Microsoft to drag themselves out of the gaming dark ages and allow more licensed third party mods, changing HUD colour is as easy as this... with over 100 presets to chose from. It doesn't break your game in the slightest, it's not a hackerz tool and takes all of the time it takes to browse through the presets to find one you like. Most of the presets don't effect the mission board images either. Besides that, it also does all the things that it shows... graphics settings, keybinding saves... it's also free. I donated £15 since I reckon it's worth it.

Good bit of kit. Dr Kaii's ED profiler...
