HUD Disabling not working CTRL+ALT+G

i never have been able to disable my HUD using CTRL+ALT+G i tried every key combination so no need to suggest any other.

I formatted my Drive and reinstalled my windows 7 x64, updated it, installed Elite Dangerous (Non steam version) and loaded the game with all default settings, i didnt even touch the graphics. i had to unmap the G button from targetting, still nothing.

the only thing i havent done was change my keyboard, i Loaded the on screen Keyboard and it shows all the keys work.

is it some other setting i am not aware of? is it a file i need? i have no idea.

Make sure it is LEFT CTRL + LEFT ALT + G

Works fine here using voice attack. RIGHT CTRL won't work.

When i open "on screen keyboard" , shows both CTRL and Both ALT being pressed at same time when i press one. dont know if someone can confirm that or not.

Using the OSK in Win 7, pressing the Ctrl button does light up both. The Alt doesn't. Checked in game. Only the Left Ctrl and Alt (+g) hides the HUD.

yes, as i said i tried all combinations, all keys LOL...might be something to do with a config file? something i need to add or remove in there or something

might try voice attack too see if it works

There are no config files that would affect this - it is hard-coded into the game just like F10, Ctrl-F etc.

Sounds like something to do with the Alt key(s) i.e. perhaps the OS or the game is recognising the right Alt or both Alt keys instead of the left one. It must be something on the OS/PC side of things.

Check your keyboard+language+regional settings in Windows. I would start with "Keyboard layout".

Do you have a keyboard that uses it's own driver instead of the default MS one?

no....i have the challenger prime keyboard.

ok that didnt work either.

this is so weird. all keyboard tests shows both CTRL buttons and both ALT buttons being pressed when i press the left one. must be normal right? left or right are both and the same?

I get the same as Garix when using On-Screen Keyboard - press left Alt and only left Alt lights up, press Alt Gr and only AltGr lights up.

Do you have another keyboard you can try?

i have to hold alt first then ctrl then del... i have ctrl linked to something else...so if i do it in that order it works

Alright Thanks for the info people... i will find a keyboard i can borrow from a friend and try it. Thanks alot Guys, ill update if it solved my prob or not,

OK i dont mean to Bumb this thread in any way but i used my steel series APEX Raw and used the engine with it, all is well, using my macro to disable HUD. everything works.
