Newcomer / Intro HUD distortion

Recently I have been experiencing HUD distortion, mostly during combat but sometimes when warping.
Anyhow, the HUD depicts a double vision type of distortion and not the whole HUD, but certain portions of it.

For instance, my shield integrity view on the right side of the screen will show amber (normal), and slightly offset red display at a 45 deg. angle up and further to the right.
So it looks like my shields are almost gone. The same happens to my weapons HUD etc., but not necessarily at the same time.

So my question is, is this a new special effect of taking damage, or am I experiencing a ticketable problem?

Ever since the upgrades from 1.04, I have been experiencing some instability issues. Like dropping into a USS of a cluster of rebel transmissions and they suddenly disappear.
Going on a pirate kill mission and killing several pirates before they start to register as kills. One mission taking almost the entire allotted time to complete.

Anyhow, the latter I can accept as an ongoing improvement glitches, but the first is really annoying.
 
There is definitely an effect matching your description that the game does when taking damage... Should just flicker in and out I think, can't say for certain that's what you're experiencing
 
This is damage indication on the HUD and has been there for quite a long time. Turning UI effects off doesn't affect it like it does with the other holo effects. I actually quite like the effect.

The other issues should be ticketed though.
 
Carlisle, it lasts for a couple seconds, doesn't just flicker. that wouldn't be a problem. If the effect was there before, it wasn't so pronounced.
Tiamat, I would like it also if it only flickered, but it will last for 2-5 seconds sometimes. If it can last that long, I will just have to live with it (of course I may just be getting pounded on that side).
And actually I'm not taking damage every time it occurs, just hits to the shield. However, I haven't been in some of the major dogfights like lately.
Taking on 3-4 enemy attackers at times.

Yep, I know what you mean and it's not the taking damage working as planned stuff, it's proper double vision type distortion with another version of parts of the HUD in red. I also get some sound distortion/slow down during this... especially when launching chaff, although that may be just co-incidence.
