Hud: Information Pin Space

Can we have a customisable place to pin important ship system stats?

For exploration I need
- Jump range (current/max)
- FSD Health %
- "Closest POI" would be an useful
Combat rolls need
- Power Plant Health
- FSD Health
- MRP Integrity
I'm sure that other roles have just things that would be nice to have in front of you too.

Something like this:

I would really love to see the current max jump range of the ship maybe on the top of the left hand navigation panel would be best. Current being the figure that takes into account fuel remaining and whatever cargo is being carried as well as any synthesised boosts or boosts from Pulsars and white dwarfs that are currently in effect etc.

One pet peeve is that engineers don't give figures we can actually understand. Once you've modded your FSD, Engines etc, you can only see what the result is by going to the fitting facility. If you're currently on the pad, it's a PITA to have to go through the animation to drop the ship, turn it around and push it back into the hangar before bringing up the fitting screen, just to see what your new jump range is or how fast your modded engines will push your ship along at. All this information should be available with a "Current Ship Stats" button on the navigation panel. This information should list jump range, max and boosted speeds, agility (since cargo tonnage and such should affect that too), shield strength and resistances, weapon DPS and damage types and other info such as range and ROF etc. In fact, EVERYTHING you'd expect to see on the fitting screen.

Even without engineer upgrades, at least we can see what our ship is capable of without having to find a fitting shop to dock at.

Great idea! I always forget to check my FSD health before supercharging it.
It can also be useful to keep an eye on your jumprange while fuel scooping.
Maybe include an option to display the module with the lowest health.

Anyone ever played I-War (1&2)?

They had a simple pip system across the top of the HUD.
Lots of little squares, each representing a module, with no labels, but they'd change colour based on their damage levels.
Eventually, you'd get to know which system is which, and could react accordingly.

A similar system for ED would be excellent for keeping an eye on basic damage levels.

This idea is good too though. :)

(Sorry for the hijack!)
