Greetings Hudsonites,

our faction had a very good cycle, thanks to our supporters on these forums as well!

Follow the strategy sticky (contains all undermining targets this cycle) and priority post to find out where you are needed most. Both posts will get updated as the cycle progresses.

Please do not hit ALD unprofitable control systems with base income (see the ALD tab in the powerplay menus) lower than 62 for now, that could help them. Keep also in mind that undermining or fortification beyond the 100% triggers doesn't do anything.

For those who can't view reddit here's subset of our current ALD undermining targets (I'll try to keep this list updated, but the strategy sticky will be updated more frequently):

I have a question: Sometimes you say not to undermine/fortify over the threshold and any more would be a waste- but what happens if we continue to push the system up as stated above regarding Tricorii? Does going over the threshold help in certain instances?

Well when you undermine control systems every merit beyond the 100% trigger is just wasted (the same for fortification), they don't do any more damage. Also a system that's not fully undermined has no higher CC costs at all (so if a system has undermining merits in it but not enough to reach the 100% trigger those don't do anything too).

Expansions (like Tricorii last cycle) are different. In those the side with the highest total percentage wins, i.e. in our expansion Ravas we have 6518% worth of own merits (to expand) and 224% merits worth of opposition. If someone wanted to oppose that expansion diretly they would have to do another 6300%. So in a control system you can simply stop after reaching the undermining trigger, but expansions have ongoing contest over the whole cycle and the highest percentage wins.

Ok, so expansions are based upon whomever has the highest amount of merits and control systems are based upon whomever reaches the trigger first.. correct?

Nearly. Expansions the highest percentage wins. In control systems reaching fort and undermining triggers influences the upkeep costs. Both triggers can be reached in a cycle (i.e. if a system is undermined it can still be fortified and it won't matter what happened first).

The different cost states:
Not fortified & not undermined: Default upkeep costs
Fortified & undermined: Default upkeep costs (cancel each other out)
Fortifed & not undermined: Zero Upkeep costs
Not fortified & undermined: Default upkeep costs + system income is lost (for the cycle)
