it will not. Just because he is not president any longer does not mean he cannot have power and territory anymore. Hudson will not dissapear. Maybe whoever becomes president will suddenly have a tragic open window mishap, and Hudson will step up to the rescue... .

The game came out in '14, that Hudson wasn't there?
What year did PP come out? Hasn't it been more than 8 years?
What about the other presidents? Aren't they eight years old? Or aren't all presidents there?

While Elite Dangerous has been released in Dec. 2014, Powerplay was added in June 2015. Hudson became President three days earlier. So yes, he's always been the President since PP came out.
Before him, Jasmina Halsey has been in office.

Should be earlier, Hudson's term ends in June afaik.

Each power is a bit different. The Alliance is represented by their Prime Minister, the Empire has their Emperor as well as some influential Senators. And of course there are all these independent Powers. So I guess Hudson could become an "independent" Federation-aligned Power once he's left office.
