Ships Huge MCs engineering, Corvette loadout

So I'm planning to use this loadout on my Corvette:

2 huge MCs overcharged
1 large MC overcharged incendiary
1 medium MC high cap corrosive, 1 medium MC high cap emissive
2 small railguns long range

What is the best experimental effect for huge MCs in this build? I'm considering oversized or incendiary

Put Incendiaries on the large and 2 mediums, smalls corrosive and emissive

As a note for @Catharsiac, this involves also changing the Rail Guns for more Multi-cannons—with which I agree. There is something to be said for having 100 Piercing from a class 1 hardpoint, though definitely in this case it will be better to forget about their actual damage and use them just for the Corrosive and Emissive effects. That leaves the nice class 2 and 3 hardpoints to help with Thermal damage.

I also agree very much with that answer in general; Auto-loader is perfect for the class 4 Multi-cannon. To see why, fly out and shoot a few rounds! As with some other class 4 weapons, you will see that it acts quite differently to its smaller counterparts, in this case with no warm-up time and with larger, less frequent projectiles which Auto-loader can feed quite nicely.

Auto-loader remains the top class 4 Multi-cannon choice if you go with class 1 Rail Guns, although please note that the latter will have to stand in for a lot of Thermal damage lacking elsewhere, and the Piercing does not help against a shield. You could use class 4 Incendiary to supplement the Thermal damage, but at that point I would ask myself why have I not simply fitted a Beam Laser. In any case, by all means try the class 1 Rail Guns, if you have a plan for them!

Also of note: While overcharged is more damage, rapid fire is more fun. Also the damage loss per miss isn't as high. But, of course, ymmv.

Thirding the Autoloader suggestion, it's the best MC mod when you don't need debuffs/incendiary.
And I assume the plan for the rails is at least one Feedback Cascade, because that'd be an excellent plan.

This surely sounds like more sustained dps, but I can't drop the rails, it won't be fun without them :(

I'd also say they are effective, they have perfect convergence, and as betatoaster said, I'm gonna go for feedback cascade (super pen on the second). I tried them out and even without engineering I could destroy dangerous anaconda's powerplant with ease

Corrosive.

Huge MC has the lowest rate of fire and has no pause before firing.
The MC is usually placed for PvE and in a group of several. So there is no point in cutting down the already low ammo of any smaller MC, because it will run out of ammo much sooner. Even with the corrosive mod installed on HMC.

Depending on how many MC’s you have:

I recommend:

Auto Loader on the C4’s,
Corrosive on the smallest,
Emissive on the next smallest,
And Incendiary on any others.

If you don’t have enough MC’s for Incendiary, don’t worry, lasers are better at dropping shields anyway.

If you want rails too, just know that ED presents players with these kinds of choices, because: where’s the fun (or skill) in a ship that has 20 hard points?

On my Conflict Zone Federal Corvette I'm using.
2x H rapid firing multi (oversized) rate of fire make a difference
1x L beam laser turret long range, vent
2x M beam laser gimballed long range, vent
1x S pulse laser turret, long range emissive
1x S multicannon turret, high capatity, corrosive

Best working setup or me.

The two huge MCs, are they gimballed or fixed? :)

I've been fighting with the hardpoints of my Vette for a long time. What worked best for me in the end were 2 small sturdy cascade rails, 2 medium long range (to draw enemies towards my slowboat) thermal vent gimballed beams, 1 large efficient thermal vent gimballed beam, 1 huge short range autoloader gimballed MC, 1 huge short range corrosive gimballed MC.

Notable drop in damage dealt by doing that. Autoloader is buff to DPS and Corrosion will remove effective time to deal damage from the huge by 20%. Only having the huge for 80% of the fight as opposed to 100% is a notable drop in total damage. . Corrosion is the same on a huge or small, so High Capacity Small with Corrosion coupled with a Huge Autoloader is more total damage than putting Corrosion on the huge.
