Jupiter is nearly 70,000 km so 76,357 km is not that much bigger, but millions of km is huge.

I tried but my DSS wouldn't engage and I ended up smacking into the outer ring trying to get it to. I've had that problem before with very large outer rings. I must be doing something wrong.

Like a dipass I didn't record the location! Or take a snapshot of the ring stats. Still leaning how to act like a half decent explorer.

You have to DSS the top and bottom of the GG as 2 separate halfs, cant be done from outside the rings as usual.

Fly into range and aim out to get the outer rings. I usually end up flying up and down plane to try and get a bigger target to hit the darn thing and it can literally take minutes between firing and hitting due to distance. Theres only been 1 ring I failed to map but Im sure if I got it right it would have been possible, I just gave up.

Very nice, always remember when exploring, you can't take to many screen shots!

If you run Elite Observatory to scan your journals it will report the systems with large rings and you will be able to find it and screenshot the system map for us!

If you know when the screenshot was taken, and if you run EDDiscovery or another program that views the logfile, you should be able to find the system name by checking the Commander's Log.

One doesn't, stars and the surrounding rings can't be scanned, consider it analogous to a an asteroid belt around a primary star.

Wow! Never seen anything like that.
I'm sure I recall being able to scan a ring around a brown dwarf or some kind of proto-star, though. Like the one in the left.
