I'm very curious about this myself... (I googled a lot and couldn't find an answer -- or even any CMDRs randomly speculating). So thread bump...
I have two AX ships, an FDL and an Krait MkII. Both are fully engineered (stats below). Not shown in the table is the hull hardness. The FDL is 70 and the Krait is 55. I'm unsure on what effect (if any) hull hardness has on damage from Thargoid Interceptor / Thargon attacks. The fact that the Type 10 has the highest hardness in the game and was initially introduced as an AX ship (despite the fact that it failed at that role), leads me to believe that Thargoids have a high armour piercing value on their attacks. (if not, why would Lakon engineers put the effort into increasing the hull hardness to the highest of any ship available on the open market). But it's unclear what the armour piercing value of Thargoid attacks is (and if it's different for different types of attacks).
I've noticed that the Force Lightening attack is devastating against shields, but doesn't do much to hull, that could be a clue that it has extremely low armour piercing (guessing around 10~20). The normal interceptor cannon attack armour peircing rating might be somewhere in the middle (guessing around 50) , and the Thargon kamikaze attacks might have very high armour piercing (guessing >80).
Does anybody else have any info / research on this?
