I tried using a hull tank FAS for a while and it was deadly but hull tanking is kind of annoying to use. SHields drop if someone sneezes at you, than, your hull can take a beating but random module malfunctions happen all the time mid-fight including things like chaf, and there is a hefty repair bill every time you get to a station afterwards.

Yea ok.. Just gotta unlock Palin first which is going to be a hassle. I haven't even unlocked the modular terminal guy which I guess I must ask people for or something. Then I gotta figure out which modules to grind for for maximum efficiency.

Speed is king in Elite.
My combat craft use it. And this is coming from a heavy tanker in all other games.

Since no one pointed this out.. you dont need any rank with the Imperial Navy to buy the IEagle.
I am definitely going to add grade 5 thrusters onto my DBS, now if those are going to be dirty or clean idk.

Yep.. I am pretty sure the iEagle does not require rank, at least it didn't at release.

I unlocked Palin and got him to level 5 this week. Clean is seriously garbage. I had Grade 3 dirty applied and had enough materials for a level 5 clean roll........the clean roll was inferior to the level 3 dirty in every way possible other than heat and both rolls were "pretty good". I think the only reason to go clean over dirty is if it's an explorer build or you have a heavily overcharged powerplant that already runs like an oven. I would rather put all weapons as "efficient weapon" mod over "overcharged" to save on heat VS going clean drives instead of dirty.
It MIGHT be a good idea for a stealth build though. I have no experience with that.
