Hulll Reinforcment Packages for large ships.

Now with the thargoid threat that have weapons that can bypass shield, i'ts not the time to introduce some decent Hull packages to bigger ships?

5D is the best hull package we can got atm, this is a waste in a class 6, or 7 or 8 internal.

maybe if 6-7-8 HRP come with a little module damage reduction like MRP or if they increase the ship hull hardness this can allow people to try diferent builds to PVP too...

Fdev have said that they would like for large ships to not have to rely on shields so much. But seeing as how modules get sniped so fast hull tanking Corvettes or Condas will never be viable.

yeah, i tried a hull tank build in beta 2.3 (When they propose to increase hull hardness while they will decrease the shield boosters effetc)

That' s true, even with the increased hardnes and even with resistences module sniping are too fast against the big ones, for that reason i said in the main post to put some kind of module damage resistence in the HRP (Like they do with MRP but one fixed buff)

Diminishing returns would render the advantage increasingly negligible.

Even on a full hull tank, there are things ye can use the bigger slots for.

IMO, hull reinforcements should be proportional to ship mass. They should scale with increasing mass- so that hull-tanking becomes viable.

Of course, there's many core aspects of this game that should be reworked so they make more sense.

A beefy corvette (for example) should have nowhere near the same agility/speed as a smaller ship. Period.

HRPs are more efficient (more effective HP per ton) in the smallest slots anyway, so generally you want to fill them in starting at the bottom and building up. Especially after you factor in resistances from engineering.
