I "buy" a lot of books because I am not renewing kindle unlimited next renewal so I am hosing up all the freebies on hot UK deals (and there are a lot)
games wise I am a horder/magpie. i see a shiny thing and I wants it esp if it's a bargain on special offer.
my GOG galaxy collection is massive (combines most of my games across multiple platforms) admittedly many of the games were cheap or free.
The paradox of choice (or overchoice) is real with me however. the amount of time I sit down with 40 minutes to spare and I just get overwhelmed is far to common. eventually I just think sod it and click the same old game just for ease. that used to be Elite for me.
At the moment it is WarFrame.
in some ways things were better back in the day where I only had a handful of games.
my other problem is I hate joining a game mid series so rather than play Witcher 3 or metro exodus I feel I have to go right back to the start of the series even if they are not the game I want to play (sometimes meaning buying even more games)
