Humans, a digital lifeform.

A thought i just had about how we live our life in this universe of Elite.
We respawn at a station with a new ship after we failed to keep the ship whole. We respawn at our mothership when our srv or fighter's has been defeated.

We never leave our ships to walk around. Why? There's none to see anywhere. All we see are avatars, as a picture at a station, or someone something in the captains chair.
Are the humanoids sitting in the seats fixed in its chair to sort of make us think we are what we once were, real humans, of flesh and blood?

Is it an achivement we yet has to conquer, being these digital lifeforms; a way to step up and walk around like we once did? Did we ascend, or rather descend somehow to what we are now?
Did something horrible happen that forced us into becoming a digital lifeform?

Well, just a thought about not having spacelegs yet and things to do with it. There's so many games using legs which has tons of things to do while using those, so why is Elite not evolving to this (yet)?
Perhaps it is a feature coming in next season? I still urge legs. Lots!
