Because of Friday? 
It was more difficult than I thought. First of all – a lot of engineers characters are quite, let’s say, unattractive. System of character generation in ED is weird, just look at the Crew Lounge.
Second thing – Engineers portraits were changed. I found previous on the Internet and in my opinion previous ones were a lot better. For me this applies especially to Lori Jameson and Elvira Martuuk. Previous Lori had strong female facial features and looked like a woman over 30. Now she looks like a 17 year old boy. Elvira looked like a hard, young woman, let's say - a latino, and now she looks like an angry, pale, female android
I don’t know if the engineer portraits were generated and then tweaked or completely designed by hand.
But the absolutely good thing is: I can’t wait to meet engineers personally in Odyssey. I’m very curious how they will look as 3D modelled.

icon)- Tod "The Blaster" McQuinn – Tod is one of two most handsome male engineers in the game but for me his face hasn't any characteristic features. Absolutely normal face. Maybe strong eyes and brows are conspicuous. Few Hollywood actors fit Tod, but I picked Jonathan Rhys Meyers because of his attractive eyes and gaze.
Looks similar especially before the portrait change:
Well known actor. Recently we could see him in the „Vikings” series and the „Black Butterfly” movie.
- Selene Jean – for me she is the most beautiful female engineer in the game. Her face has characteristic features. Especially a bit square chin, and the nose quite wide for the whole face shape. In my opinion Mélanie Laurent looks like her.
One of the more famous roles is the one in Tarantono’s „Inglourious s”.
Second candidate was Elizabeth Debicki.
- Didi Vatermann - Well, that was one of the hardest. Didi’s look is very... „original”. Characteristic face features are eyes, brows and nose. I also picked characteristic actresses Tracee Ellis Ross. I think she fits the Didi role quite good.
Mostly we could see her in TV series, but recently she played in „The High Note”.
- Bill Turner. This one is good! Look at that face! On those eyes and those lips so tightly closed! There is only one actor who can have that expression, and that is Daniel Craig. Look here:

We all know Daniel Craig very well, especially from James Bond roles.
- Broo Tharquin. Gosh, I'm absolutely sure that I saw this face before! Especially these eyes! But it’s hard to find it. Jeffrey Tambor looks quite similar. We know him especially from TV series and secondary roles in Hollywood movies like „The Accountant” with Ben Affleck and „The Hangover”.
- Liz Ryder - I had a problem with her. Even before the avatars of engineers changed, she looked quite original. In the present photo, her somewhat boyish beauty is most noticeable. So I was looking for actresses with a similar "boyish" appearance. Maggie Jyllenhaal fits pretty well.
Actress is known from many movies. For example: "The Dark Knight", "White House Down"
- Hera Tani - It was interesting! Her face in the game has changed too. The most distinctive feature is the eyes - very distinct in relation to the complexion. Jessica Szohr could play her. Just compare:
She is not a well-known actress. We can see her in TV series or "Ted 2" movie - about this adult teddy bear.
- Tiana Fortune - Ummm. I can't find anything interesting in her face. It is round and perfectly symmetrical. I think Kiki Layene has a similar appearance. On the big screen she is pretty new (from 2018). We could see her in "The Old Guard" with Charlize Theron.
- Famous Felicity Farseer - Yes, she’s face was also changed. Especially eyes. Previously she had bigger. A lot of different old aged actresses could play her. I picked Hellen Miren. She has played in a lot of movies, for example, a long time ago in „2001: Space Odyssey”. Recently we saw her as Catherine the Great in a mini-series with the same title.
- Colonel Bris Dekker - It will be hard to pick an older man while Dekker looks like a woman. Thanks to CMDR @The Lawful! Ben Kingslay should match. -
That was hard too. I can’t even compare her to whatever face I saw before. Most characteristic is her mouth and space between nose. I picked Rita Moreno and I think she’s quite similar to her. The most known movie? “West Side Story” (a long time ago ).
- Yuri Ishmak - another problem. Juri is black but he has facial features rather like European: sharp nose and thin lips. Let’s say that in the 34th century races are so mixed up that facial features are no longer distinctive by a specific race. I picked Clarke Peters.
We know him from a lot of TV series and secondary roles, for example “K-Pax”, “Notting Hill”.
- The Sarge - Keith David. Yeah this is exactly this guy ! He even made the same face. I get the impression that Keith David always plays soldier or a cop.
Well known from so many roles. I remember him very well from one of my favourite movies: “Cloud Atlas”.
- Elvira Martuuk - yes, a problematic one. She changed a lot. I based on her present avatar. She looks like an angry, pale woman over 30, so the dangerous lady from “Blade Runner 2049” - Sylvia Hoeks - fits this role and looks quite like her.
- The Dweller - another very changed picture. As above, I focused on the present one. Nick Stahl - known for his many roles, especially from Terminator 3 - looks pretty similar. The Dweller also reminds me of Ethan Roark Jr. "The Yellow " from "Sin City" - also played by Nick Stahl.
- Lei Chung - yeah, I'm happy with this choice. Adam Beach could play him. Well known actor from a lot of TV series and movie roles in “Flag of Our Fathers”, “Windtalkers”.
- Marco
QwertyQwent - There could be a lot of different actors but I can’t resist putting Adam Driver in his role. The hair, nose, mouth looks very similar. Eyes - not quite. No one cares about Macro Qwerty, so angry Kylo Ren should be good for this role
- Professor Palin - second handsome engineer. Tough man Josh Brolin could be very good in this role. The other one I considered was Kevin Costner.
For me, Josh Brolin's best role was as Llewelyn Moss in “No Country for Old Men”.
- Zacariah Nemo - for me Idris Elba is another good choice. Almost the same facial features: gaze, nose, mouth.
We know him from a lot of movies, like "Prometheus", "The Mountain Between Us" (this is a good movie BTW).
- Lori Jameson - was the most problematic. I have no idea who this 17-year-old boy reminds me of. Should I choose a boy for this role? I looked at the avatar of the previous Lori and I think Evan Rachel Wood looks pretty similar. We know her from the “Westworld” series.
Hilary Swank was my second choice, but for previous Lori.
- Ram Tah - Yes, I could pick one of black actors, or better - Hawaiian, Indian or South American. Maybe someone from the “Apocalypto” cast, but I couldn’t resist putting Dave Bautista as Ram Tah. He was really good in “Blade Runner 2049” as Sapper Morton.
- Etienne Dorn - This is the guy! Well that was funny. I picked John C. Reilly because of his original look comparable to Dorn.
Second one was Clint Howard - even more specific!
But we should remember this is a serious movie production here!
- Marsha Hicks - Well, that was another hard choice. Marsha reminds me of no one really. I think if I was a movie casting manager and I would like to hire actress with age over 40 and with unusual, original beauty I should consider Tilda Swinton for sure.
- Mel Brandon - Look at Morris Chestnut, Mel Brandon’s twin brother. I'm pleased with that comparison.
In addition to series, Morris is known for films such as “The Call”, “Heist”.
- Petra Olmanova - another amazing mix. Aside from the fact that I can't compare her to any famous actress, she is black but has fairly classic face features. (BTW, her name sounds perfectly like from the Czech Republic). I was looking for young, black actresses with classic beauty and long face. Liya Kebede should fit the role well. She is not a famous actress. We could see her in "Innocence", "Lord of War".
- Chloe Sedesi - I like her! She looks a bit pugnacious. I imagine her also as a joyful person, exactly like Rashida Jones. Just look at those eyes, smile and freckles.
Rashida Jones is mostly known from TV serieses but also from “The Social Network”.
