Hunt Traders

Hi,

I'm sorry if this has been asked a thousand times (I looked but couldn't find anything and my time is limited on here) but I accepted a mission to Hunt Traders. I'm trying to build my rep.

I went to the suggested system and checked out a few USS and eventually got a message from a guy in a T9 asking me to accept his offer. My contract changed but I wanted the rep from the original. I had a feeling shooting him would be a bad idea, so I shot him.

Now I have a bounty and still can't find any traders to finish the mission.

Any advice appreciated. I would also appreciate any advice on siding with factions, from people with experience.

You're not going to get around a bounty if you do a Hunt Traders mission in a non-anarchy system.

Check USS, traders are really rare, though. The three Asps flying in a wing USS counts as three traders, for example. But they might not even exist anymore, given I did that waste of time during 1.07

There are traders all over. Get yourself a frame jnterdictor thingy and you can get them in normal flight. (Haulers etc) But in fairness tthese missions are the hardest to do so be careful.

Hmmmm ok. The bounty I expected. I expected my kill count to go down by one after I blasted the guy who gave me his message.

If they're not in an anarchy system you have to eat the bounties.

Now if it's the kill Bounty Hunter mission there's a little trick you can do.

First deliberately get a assault fine in a neighbouring independent system, this will give you a record but you shouldn’t be wanted in your missions system. Hang out at the nav point and let the NPC hunters scan you, they should attack for the bounty and then get a local wanted status allowing you to destroy them.

Just don't forget to bay of your bounty after the mission.

Good advice, thanks! Someone in game also told me to go the Nav Beacon. I hadn't realised I could drop out of supercruise at one. I got two T7's but got chased away by a mob, barely escaping with my hull intact. As I was limping home I got interdicted. I decided to fight as it was only a sidewinder but I got in to a 20min battle and only just won. I'm in a Viper. He was Expert but I thought I might have finished it quicker. Anyway, due to that battle the mission ran out with one kill still to go.


Thanks to the advice I understand how to complete those missions now, though I've a long way to go...
