What I am finding works for me is starting in the Low Res - that was fine, then jumping up to the Standard Res (where there is one). Feeling pretty comfortable now with combat style changes (Much more use of FA off and pip management) plus the excellent strategy of not attacking any wings which are not already being addressed by the security forces! For Hi Res currently I don't attack anything unless it is alone. Just cannot handle the wings before my shields get taken out by the ones I am not attacking. BUT, I definitely feel I am improving, which is satisfying in itself.
