Hunting in RES sites

I have just found two RES sites near my home system and started bounty hunting there. Sometimes its only small low bounty ships and other times its all the big stuff Anacondas, Pythons, Dropships etc one after the other.
It appears either lucrative or not, is there any logic why sometimes its only small ships and others its large ?

The spawn is random, every time you enter a RES (and you are not in a wing with a wingmember already in this RES), you get random pirates. Sometimes its mixed, but mostly you will face big or small ships.
Solutions: leave RES (supercruise) and fly back in or relog (solo/private, dont know if this works in open).
And hunting small pirates can give you some nice money too if you get enough of them to shoot without a pause.

It is all random number generator based. Digital roll of the dice. Usually if i dont see any good enemies in 3 mins i jump out and jump back in. Reloading the instance.

I recently started bounty hunting in RES sites also, and totally agree with what the others said about logging out and back in to change the spawning mix.

If your in a System with multiple RES sites, go into 1, when that seems exhausted, jump into the next, so far when I have done this I have ended up having some good old dingdongs with multiple bigger ships. Rinse, repeat.

If that works for you that's fine, but I'm pretty sure you're simply doing the equivalent of resetting the instance by exiting and re-entering.

Yes, but if you do this on open play and there are commanders in the RES you SC out of, going back in is not going to make them go away. My suggestion was an alternative to logging off then back on (my method is quicker for me) or SC'ing out then back in again.
