Hunting Players with top Bounties

Can someone explain to me how is it possible to still have those gorgeous bounties, even if FD stated in the last update that all bounties now are capped to 1 Million? Is there something I do not know as a BH myself?
Apart from that I'd really like to join your Edge Syndicate, as an Independent Dangerous Mercenary, piloting an FdL, Clipper or Vulture, depending on the mood...

1m per minor faction, so you can still rack them up just takes a bit longer.

There are all sorts of issues from instancing to more boring stuff like what times of day people play at. You could for example try and stalk a player who is a different time zone to you! The system needs to be refined so there are some sort of breadcrumbs that you can follow to find your target. Stuff like where they frequent, what trade runs are they doing and what time they last docked. Even better would be a little bracket beside the name saying if they were online and playing open, group or solo.

Yea - like the top bounties only showing targets that are currently logged in to Open. Also - like you said, some type of recent location breadcrumbs. Like if they are scanned by security and identified an update on their location should be available somewhere. Perhaps only in stations unless you had some kind of 'security scanner' module for real-time updates in your ship so you can try and jump on a location or instance.

Although slightly immersion breaking I have to agree that there should be some subtle hint as to wether your target is currently on or offline.

I propose that all bounty hunters have a 'hit list' and any player on that list is instance matched where possible. If they are offline then they could simply be greyed out.

I also think that anyone with a large bounty, or who has killed x number of players should be restricted to playing in Open to give the bounty hunters a chance of dispensing justice on them (it would also help against bounty farmers).
