Newcomer / Intro Hunting quests help

So i am doing a mission where i have to hunt for someone between 3 systems. intel from an NPC narrowed it down to one, which is amait. Amait only has a sun 2 planets and 2 stations so finding someone there should be pretty easy right?

How do i find these people? What i have been doing is entering supercruise and scanning every ship that comes up in my contact tab but have never saw the specific person yet. Is this what i need to do for countless hours or am i doing it wrong? Some times the ship scan just comes up unknown for some reason. Who are they and why won't it show me?

you need to investigate the Unidentified Signal Sources, you'll se them as you fly around. Be advised the ship you will be facing is probably an Elite Anaconda. Very, very tough fight.

I would not recommend the 100k+ bounty hunting quests until better guns, interdictors etc, it can be tricky! If fancy some good old shooting, head to the Nav beacon next to most suns and targets ships which jump in (smaller ones), if they after scanning show they are wanted hit them for bounties, however be warned unless they are wanted in local system it means you will also be wanted! If going down this route I recommend investing in a kill warrant scanner at earliest opportunity.
