Hutton Mug

So I found out this is a long trip.

Picked up what I thought was a pretty lucrative passenger mission, after ensuring he wasn't criminal scum. Then I made a quick couple of jumps to the system with the station in question.

Then I engaged supercruise

... and waited ... and waited

... ... and waited.

Finally I said, "Okay what the heck!" Looked it up and apparently its a sort of rite of passage, at the end of which you can buy a mug.

I made sure to buy that mug. By the way, any way to safely store it somewhere besides my vessel's cargo hold?

They should have made a hutton mug bobblehead and gave it for free if you get there and buy an hutton mug.
But they never did.
See the linked post below from earlier today...

+1 for doing the trip and not moaning.
Back in 2015 for the Hutton Mug CG I went there over 30 times in my T6.

Love your Avatar respecting R Lee Ermey (2018 RIP). With that inspiration going to Hutton Orbital is a walk in the park. Oorah!

There are real mugs available for sale thus saving cargo space. Try amazon.

Regards
There are not real mugs for sale.
Hutton Mugs, as introduced, designed and given as prizes by the Hutton Truckers will never be for sale. They are an integral part of our charity fundraising for Specialeffect and Hearing dogs via events, raffles and the like as well.

However, the thieves of the Internet are happy ripping off our logo and making a profit from it without consent.

Don't buy that rubbish.

What is a real mug? Frontier isn't selling them. Their official loss. Others are selling many maybe not officially but having a brew in them after taking the trip is worth the next morning, firing up Elite Dangerous and have a warm cup of hot chocolate while enjoying the game.

If I see a commercial with the Chinese Olympus for a Hutton mug then maybe I'll be foolish enough to buy it. Could be worth 10 times more years later.

Did you purchase a 1970 Plymouth Baracuda for $3500.00? Now it is called a Cuda going for $350,000.

The real mug was designed by us as an idea after one of the very early Lavecon events. Then SUBSEQUENTLY it was submitted for a competition entry for a new rare item in game.

Which won. So. It was inserted.

We started the radio station and player group during the week of the CG to have it made.

The logo, the concept and the story behind it were of our invention.

So. The REAL Hutton Mug is the one invented, designed and given away as prizes by the guys that came up with it.

The rest is just profiteering from our logo and identity.

The logo was designed by Iain M Norman for us and he has not given his consent for it to be ripped off. Neither have we.

The ONLY consent we provide is for people who wish to use the logo with Frontier's merch designer and make their own commemorative item.

Our deal with Frontier expressly precludes making money from, or selling anything related to Hutton. Doesn't stop us giving them away as prizes though and thanks to the generosity of the community, using them as part of our charity fundraising.

Let's check eBay and see if anyone is selling this unique Hutton mug. No? Well bury it in the ground for 10,000 years and it will be worth a fortune.
