On Hutton Orbital Radio, we not only have an eclectic mix of music from our 8 regular DJ's 24 hours a day, as well as a selection of excellent adverts for in-game products and services, we run little mini audio skits and parodies....
One of these is done by our very own legendary cocktail engineer and drunk, Cecil. He has become so popular that we have been persuaded to talk to both HCS Voicepacks AND the creators of the EDDI voiceattack plugin to begin creation of the very first "Cockpit passenger" HCS Voicepack.
Funded and underwritten by the community, the pack is NOT one that helps you control your ship - given his state of sobriety, you would be foolish to allow him to, but instead reacts TO what you're up to.
Cecil has a commentary on what ship you're in, what you're up to at the moment, your actions and then, very occasionally, engages in mixing one of his delightful cocktails or enjoys the consequences of drinking them. There are also rumours that he also engages in the odd drinking game in the cockpit.
Once the pack is complete (backers are stumping up £11 a head for the studio time, licenses required and costs), backers will receive it, as well as a digital book of Cecil's finest cocktail recipes. It will then be on general sale, with a slice of each sale going to the excellent SpecialEffect charity.
We have hit our target for the funding of the pack, but you have a matter of DAYS (as in, likely to be until the end of the weekend) if you want in at this stage. 70 backers so far.... and rising!
