Enable the alternative download method in the launcher options, that might speed things up.

It might go faster if you turned your computer right-side up?

Wow!! Didn't realise the solution was that obvious, it worked!!! Only 8 hrs now.

Maybe this will improve my flying in game also

Try rotating the screen once more to the right. The data might then fall into your computer at a higher rate.
