Hutton orbital near proxima centauri

Why in the hell does it take so like my to get there why can't we just jump there 0.211 ly takes almost a full hr in real time to get there, any help is appreciated, ty in advance

Flying to Hutton is sort of a "rite of passage" thing. We all end up there at some point (usually by taking a well paying mission without taking notice of the distance). Make sure you grab some mugs.

If your asking if there is a quick way...no there isn't.

Edit: as goemon pointed out it should be rite not right... thanx mate.

it's THE station most distant from entry. there are some almost as far out, but not many. you don't get a t-shirt, but a mug.

rite of passage?
Well ty was looking for a faster way home st why it takes so dam long , but oh well I guess it's another trip into and out of the black ty for quick reply 👌😁

U can just jump to another system from Hutton (and back into the system if U want to get to another base in the same system that is close to the entry point)

Now you found out it takes an hour to fly 0.2Ly, then if you were considering flying 1Ly in supercruise to get closer to Beagle Point, well I think you can work out that will take you 5 hours of flying. I doubt any ship can carry enough fuel to fly that long.

Or you can do the CHEAT way with a fleet carrier, either with your own FC or hitch someone's FC and jump directly to the planet Eden. From there it's just a short flight to Hutton Orbital.

It's .22LY, takes about 90 minutes, and any medium pad ship, even the default Sidewinder can make the trip.
You can get there quicker IF you have a fleet carrier or are on a fleet carrier, it can select Eden as the planet to orbit when jumping into the system (I think you could also select Hutton Orbital, but I'm not sure).

Once you've gone to Hutton Orbital, all those long supercruise times to other stations seem like nothing. Also, in FEII/FFE it was near impossible to get to the planet to land in Alpha Centauri (I say near impossible because I couldn't do it, and I don't know of anyone who did).

As has been said it is a rite of passge, and a source of pranks on new players.
(sorry to spoil the fun here, ok I'm not really sorry, but there is no free Anaconda or anything else at Hutton Orbital, and don't go there in a ship that needs a large pad to dock)
Do make sure you fill up on mugs when you dock though (I think the allocation is about 40 or 50 68).

I also tried and failed at this. Something about balancing speed, fuel consumption and actually getting there in the same week was my issue.

Flying is a lot simpler these days!

It is faster if you use supercruise assist….

Can't remember it taking 90 minutes either, it was a while, but not that long iirc,

presumably you can shorten the trip by not flying straight at it, or indeed using SC...

What's the best time anyone set so far ? I suspect the Truckers keep records ?
