Hydraulic launch incline.

I would love to be able to have the launch section of the hydraulic launched coasters set at a slight incline. This was possible in Alpha 2, but since the full release you have only been able to have the launch section as a flat piece of track. As seen in this picture:

The hydraulic launched coaster in Planet Coaster is quite obviously a fantastic imitation of the hydraulic launched coasters made by Swiss ride manufacture Intamin. Rita and Stealth at Alton Towers and Thorpe Park, Top Thrill Dragster and Kinda Ka at Cedar Point and Six Flags Great Adventure and finally Formula Rossa at Ferrari Land are all these same hydraulic launched coasters by Intamin, with the latter sharing lots of simularities in the train design as the one in Planet Coaster.

On all of them the launch section is at a slight incline. This is because the cable system that pulls the train along the launch is powered from the launch room which is always situated at the end and underneath the launch section. This results in the launch section being inclined up slightly to go over the roof of the launch building.

if we could have the ability to have the launch section on an incline again like it was in Alpha 2 so we can make our coasters that little bit extra realistic, that would be great :)

I agree, the hydraulic launch coaster is based on the Formulla Rossa and you can't even recreate it the same if you can't go higher than that.

Also please add hydraulic launches for other coasters.

Many coasters use hydraulic launch and we can't even remake the Kingda Ka or Top Thrill Dragster in Planet Coaster because of this. It's a little emberassing because they're very popular coasters en this is Planet Coaster. So come on devs [happy]

Also I would love to make hydraulic launched looping coasters like the Rock 'n Rollercoaster/Xpress Platform 13. They're my favorite coasters and I can't make them.

Just to be clear, hydraulic launched coaster currently in Planet Coaster, is a imitation of the Intamin hydraulic launched coasters. Intamin are the only company in the world that currently make hydraulic launched coasters. Top Thrill dragster, Stealth, Rita ect are also all Intamin hydraulic launched coasters. Although the track and train design is different, the launch systems are exactly the same.

Adding hydraulic launches for other non Intamin coasters would not be realistic because they do not exist.

Rock 'N Rollercoaster and Xpress Platform 13 are not hydraulic launched coasters. They are LSM launched coasters. Using electrical magnets basically to launch the ride and have no moving parts in the launch system. Very very different from a hydraulic launched coaster, which uses a moving catch car which connects to the train which is connected to set a steel cables and pulleys which is wound into a winch thats powered by a high pressure hydraulic and nitrogen systems.

That first picture I posted, see the building at the end of the launch track? This is what is inside.

You can see the cable loop going out to the catch car on the top right of the picture, which pulls the passenger train along the launch section of track. All Intamin Hydraulic launched coasters have pretty much exactly the same hardware in the launch room. LSM launched rides dont have any of this. The orange tanks on the very very far left and right of the picture are the nitrogen accumulators. Then you can also see the round winch, with all it's hydraulic motors and hydraulic cables that feed the motors, going into the hydraulic holding tank at the bottom centre of the picture.

The xpress platform 13 does have a hydraulic launch I think

Also i'm pretty sure it inverts. So how come we can't make it then? Either add hydraulic launch to the looping coaster or gave us options to change track type and cart types

Nope Express 13 at Walabi World Belgium is an LSM launched Coaster. You can see the LSMs in that video. Intamin are also the only company that do hydraulic launched rides and that ride is quite clearly a Vekoma.

That's strange. So why use the catch car then? I thought catch car == hydraulic launch.

Anyway please give us the catch car launched looping coaster whatever brand/make it is or whats it called. Pretty please [big grin][big grin]

I have looked into this. It is infact a LSM launched ride but it uses a catch car powered by the LSM's. I work in the industry, trust me no other company on this planet apart from Intamin make hydraulic launched Coasters.

Go do the research yourself, it's there to be found on the internet :)
