Which was those dangers?, gravity?, being burned, Intoxication?:S

If I remember with Elite II on a very primitive Amstrad Mega Drive 386 pc (truly crap) it was, er, delicate, took me ages to master (speed, approach angle). One slip and your expensive ship was very burnt toast, or did it bounce? My memory failure might be related to my age.

Fuel scooping is was done very close to a star and would make the usually unmoving 'CT' (cabin temperature) bar in Elite moving up, until you melted. Or your tank was full and you pulled up and away.
