Elite / Frontier Hyper cloud analizer

Hi people

I have a question about the hyper clouds and i could not find a answer here so i just write it
I never could use the hypercloud analizer.(dont know how it works)
I think a hyperclous analizer is to find back a warp to another starsystem.
But when i goto a already made warp then i dont know how to use that warp a second time.
I think the idea is to save feul,is that right?

I know moust other things but this is a big mistery to me.
Can someone please explain how a hyper cloud analizer works and iff i find a hyper cloud then how schould i use it or jump through it?
Please help me.

The cloud analyser is there for tracking purposes when you are on an assassin mission or you just want to know where someone has gone. By using the device it will tell you their destination. You can then used your own hyperspace to go there. You can't actually go through their 'cloud'.

From the manual:
HYPERSPACE CLOUD ANALYSER
Determines the destination and the exact time and date of arrival of ships
by analysing the residual space time disturbance left behind after a
hyperspace jump. You will also be told the mass of the ship which has left
or is about to arrive.

I have another, more quirky question regarding analyser:

Let's assume, that I'm tracking a ship leaving a station from across the system (several AU). The ship jumps, I immediately analyse it's hyperspace cloud and decide to follow while still several AU from the ship. What will be my location relative to the other ship's arrival cloud on exit? Will I exit the witch-space close by, as I jumped at roughly the same time, or on the other side of the system, as I was far away when performing the jump?

Well assuming that you have an idential engine and range to the other ship (something that doesn't happen that often) then you will arrive after them about the same amount of time and arrive kind of relative to your depature point.

Normally tho you will have a different ship with different range therefore your relative time to get to your destination will either be before or after them but I assume that your ships arrival/departure point will still be relative to their ships arrival/deptarture point.

I think the only people really qualified to answer this are the Fronter Dev team.

Like this if I understand your question:

So, basically, the exact point of my arrival in system B is function of both, time and my coordinates in system A which makes this tactics unfeasible for assasination?

Too bad, it would be useful in those missions where you have a lot of distance to cover and arrive in the system hours before your victim's launch.

I think I understand what you mean. I'm really not too sure - I guess there could be a pre determined point in the system that you jump into.

I wonder if David might venture an opinion on the programming?

Oh,like that...........

Thats cool, means it works just like the intro movie shows when 1 ship is jump away to the other system and the other 2 follow.
Thanks for explain it with all those detaills.
But when i wana follow a ship and im to far away after a jump then i would just look on my system map and try to geuss which collored spot i need to follow.......dont know another option yet :D
I dont have the game manual yet,i play it like 10 or 12 years and im still not a master in this game.(wich is no problem, there is so much to do and space is so big........ )
I go try it richt now. ;)

Thanks again.
