The petals have slightly different, shiny hue compared to what I've seen so far, but I could be mistaken!

-1 for having the wizard on your friend list. ;)

Edit: the way they've followed you reminds me the first trailer of 2.4, with the scene of the Vette being followed in a similar angled fashion.

Yes, the Hyperdiction ones seem to be quite "Friendly" or "Playful"

Would like to see that the research limpet would say but Founders world and back is an evenings flight at this stage

I didn't get either of those vibes from this video, lol.
Just pulling you out of jumping and then just sit there, watching you .. that's .. creepy. :p

Now THAT was an encounter! Terrifyingly still and eerie. Their inentions, unknown. Unresponsive. Their stare, unending. That last part was icing on the cake. It was just like the real life tales of aircraft being followed by UFOs.

Ha, I found it like when you come across a puppy and it is now sure what to make of you so it watches you and keeps following you but keeps its distance at the same time

Or, maybe the Thargoids were perfectly still, because they were trying to get a screenshot of "a ridiculous waste of resources" that is coating a ship the size of the Cutter in gold, hahaha. It'll be all over Thargoid Instagram. Or maybe they were mesmerized by the shiny elegance of Imperial engineering coated in a golden metallic sheen. Or maybe they're just mouth breathers.
