Hyperspace sound too loud?

Now this is a contentious issue, and there may be a clever way of toning the sound down that I'm not aware of but my old ears can't handle the explosion of noise for Hyperspace jumps.

See, I love the games sounds, I love the roar of my engines and the subtle sounds of space when I turn them off, and the dull thumps of ships exploding.

Problem is when I'm wearing headphones and have to jump anywhere, I charge my engine and end up slipping my phones onto my shoulders due to that cannon like sound of being thrown around the galaxy.

I'd love another option to have a more subtle sound, something like Battlestar Galactica where ships just dissapear with literally a 'poof'. Bit more headphone friendly!

Its been that loud right since the start, really bloody annoying because woomph it goes right through the floor and annoys the rest of my household at game volume levels they can't hear any of the other sounds or other games.

We don't all want to wear headphones and it has been mentioned before, at least twice by me since Alpha without even an acknowledgement, it's ridiculous to have one game sound so much louder than all the others.

They did make a bunch of the louder sounds quieter since release, and it seems to me hyperspace was one of them, but I may have just gotten used to it.

Have you tried changing your sound settings ? Like trying "night time" ? I find that sound very loud in "boost" mode but it's okay in the others.
