General / Off-Topic hypocritical obama

Boris Johnson says that president Obama is being hypocritical in speaking out in favour of the UK staying in the EU.

The leader of a union of states is being hypocritical for speaking out in favour of a union of states?

I would say hypocrisy would be a man whose predecessors fought a civil war to prevent their union breaking up, not supporting the Uk staying in the EU

Pretty standard stuff I'd say. In the absence of a decent counter-argument he looks to shoot the messenger. He's done it before and I don't doubt he'll do it again.

Boris making a pitch for Trump.

Those tow could be brothers.
Boris is a intelligent man who is skilled at manipulating situations to his political advantage, I think he's taken his position in the referendum as part of his long game to become conservative leader and then PM. A very cynical position that puts his personal ambition ahead of the country's welfare and something to be despised in any politician.

trump is nowhere near as intelligent as Boris, but he does have an instinct for latching onto the angriest voice in the room and amplifying it.

Same hair stylist though....

I just hate it when that happens

Have I fallen into an alternate reality where a zombie president of the United States has held office for hundreds of years?

Although one president is not bound to follow the reasoning of a previous one, they are individuals after all, the United States has historically fought to prevent states seceding the union.

I mean, come on Boris, the clue is in the flippin' name "United States", would California (one of the most successful states) be more influential on the world stage as California or as part of the US?

People slagging off Boris Johnson?

Let me guess there is a yearning to have that drunken hippocritical fool, 'Red Ken' back?

I now know what it feels like to be a national of another country, to have America and other western leaders stick their nose in the affairs of another country, spin lies and mass hysteria to try get there way.

Being British, it ALL feels like we are being fed the same kind of muck about WMDs that we gave the UN on Iraq.

I guess a lot of people will view any intervention in the EU referendum by Obama through the lens of their position on the EU, which is fine and to be expected.

But I don't think you can say it is hypocritical of a President of the United States to be for a union of (European) states, not that I would want the EU to morph into a USoE.

The argument that Boris makes is that the US would never give sovereignty away, relies on equating the UK with the entire US rather than the UK with a US state.

The US is built on the principle that smaller states pool their sovereignty to become a lager entity and thus the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts . Does anyone claim that any of the 50 states would be better off as individual states?

Boris is also half American. Pathetic his only counter to Obama is childish insults.

Boris playing the long game, hoping to eventually lead the country and line his pockets like every previous PM we've had.

The Conservative Party is like a game of slither.io at the moment. All the snakes have seen how many times David Cameron has almost hit a wall, and they are now circling around him waiting for the chance to devour his remains.
