I'm slowly trying all ships sub 10 million and got the Vulture yesterday.
After doing a few RES with it...I miss my Viper.
I've seen plenty rave about the Vulture and how it's king and this and that, but here's why I don't like it:
- Viper has much more speed. Feels like a real fighter
- Vulture can't fit class 3 chainguns...because of the simple reason class 3 chainguns don't exist. I love my dakka dakka
- Vulture has much more micromanagement with the power. Viper flies a bit simpler
- Vulture canopy is much more prone to cracking. Once the shields go down you really can't tank anything
- Viper just looks better. Looks sleek. Vulture looks like a fat crab
- I loved the new BSG series, and the Viper reminds me of their fighter with the chainguns and maneuverability. Vulture, not so much
- Less visibility in the Vulture cockpit. I like being able to see to my sides in the Viper for targets
- Viper sounds better to me. Love hearing the engines whine up and down. Vulture sounds muddled
- Viper is much cheaper to replace if you have an "oops"
Obviously this is all opinion. I've already sold my Vulture back and will use the credits to outfit an Asp trader/explorer.
Sticking with my Viper for bounty hunting and dedicated combat. It was my first upgrade from the sidewinder and I've grown rather fond of it.
Viper power!
