Play with your cat, it may develop in non glacial timescales.
It's been there a while. I can't even get up!
Until you play in VR with a HOTAS, the cat feels (rightfully) neglected and starts to walk across the keyboard. Or shifts position and gets it into his head that the numpad makes an excellent headrest.

Protip: Cardboard box. They're cat magnets. Kitties prioritise cardboard boxes over everything.

Yep, they make operation of the various buttons easier. For example I can operate button two on the stick (assigned to boost) with a slight press down on the base of my thumb with no need to stop operating the top hat (thrusters). Did the same on the TWCS throttle.

I used to play ED on the floor with my elder now kicked the bucket beloved cat so I could be with it more.
Well, I found kibble in my thrustmaster 16000 throttle.
Dampening grease loves cat hair by the way....
