General / Off-Topic I am done with Planet Coaster

I am done with Planet Coaster and not because of the game, but because of the horrible community here. The game is coming along well and will someday be a fine simulation. I may come back then, but for now I am not going to play here.

I really like the community here and i really dont know why you are upset. Atleast tell us why you think its horrible. pointless post...

I think this community is great. One of the better gaming communities I have been a part of. Please explain what makes this a "horrible" community?

I have to be a little shocked when I read your OP. I think this community is the best out there. Even if you offer a concern that some may not agree with, the forums become constructive conversation rather than personal attacks which is more than I can say for the other forum. What makes you so upset with a community that you feel you can't even play the game anymore...

There are a ton of unhelpful people, who complain and tear down things the developers are doing. Many people who have obviously not searched out any information from any of the releases from the developers, and there are a ton of people who have expectations from the game that are completely detached from reality. So i understand why someone would want to leave it.

its a game, not a program for you to recreate whatever it is you want to recreate. I was hyped about the fact that it was going to be a game, and I can't wait to play a game. I do not want plazas, dark-rides, specialized supports, and modding. I want an amazing vision realized by an amazing team, that lets me play hundreds of hours of park management, building, development, and to lose my self in silly dreams of being an imagine-er again. I hope what my wishes for the game are close to what the developers are doing, everything they have said publicly seems to make me feel like i'm not far

This is probably one of the most random posts to have seen to be honest. Yeah debates get heated but we are all adults and get on with each other and we discuss what the problems may be.

We have people who may have joined the forum late and asked questions and am happy to answer. If anyone has asked or posted about something that has already been posted because then I just provide the same information as everyone may not be following it as close as others and that's OK. If you don't want to read or post on the same thing then just scroll past it?

There is also a ton of us that may want stuff that is over the top or not realistic to produce but we are discussing ideas that we feel would be amazing in a game, yeah it things can go too far but the whole point of a forum is to discuss anything and everything that you love about this game.

Tearing down might be a bit extreme but everything doesn't have to be super positive either. When something doesn't work then we get upset and passionate to make it better and hope the Devs know that we don't mean any malice to them or the team when we discuss. We just love everything that this game is about and so the odd bit just looks a lot worse.

I am sorry that the OP and yourself TheCrazyDemoMan feel this way. I do hope you enjoy the game.

And I would just like to say that this is one of the best forum communities of any game I have enjoyed the pleasure of talking too and interacting with for myself.

Regards,

Adam

Not even the Ed Lewis fan club thread will make you stay?

Can't imagine there are any forums that don't have negative people, it's the world we live in. Thread seems a little OTT in my opinion given you could have just not made it and left the forum.

And what matters to you is what should happen, right? It should be what a majority of people want, and what Frontier thinks will sell a game. RCT3 lived for so long because of how the community pushed that game, we made it to what we wanted it to be. Now we have the option to have a voice in this game being made from scratch, so of course we're going to say what we want and give suggestions about how we feel things should be implemented or handled. Whether Frontier follows our suggestions is up to them, but they've invited an open discussion and basically asked us to say what we want to get out of this game, so for anyone to suggest that anyone on this forum is doing anything other than that is actually kind of disrespectful overall. Sure some people don't express themselves with grace, but even criticism like "the coaster editor sucks" still means something if you ignore sort of the harshness of it.

If anything I feel like people generally are a bit soft in their criticisms on here. There's a lot of "I LOVE the game, but..." And "I know it's an alpha, but
.." instead of getting to the point and saying what you want to say. Of course it's nice to hear but in some ways I feel like everyone feels as if they have to praise the game when giving a suggestion or criticism or they'll somehow be looked down upon.

Either way, I think this community works well together, I wish Frontier would take a bit more of our suggestions into consideration to be perfectly honest, but other than that I think we got a pretty good symbiosis going here.

I have found that no game that I play requires any of my time to be spent reading their community forums. I read them for knowledge, entertainment, and maybe even to offer help to others. If I find too much negativity and purse-fighting, I simply stop reading the forums. I have yet to find a reason to stop playing a game because of its forum.

I would type of a full response, but I feel Stream covers my feelings to the letter.

We as a community are here because A: we love/Like Planet Coaster and B: Because we all want to help shape it.

To say that the Devs will build the game how they see fit is ignorance. They have listened to us and have made many great changes already. While I understand not everything that we want will make it to the final game. If we can have more features implemented up front, its less work on the back end to get a product that we all like.

And to the OP, Don't leave the game because you've had a bad experience on the forms: Please understand that many of us are here to help make a better game and help one another.

Sorry did you accidentally quote the wrong person? [happy]

kasmar45 problem is our thread about RCTW.

And..

TheCrazyDemoMan you realize that Frontier made a section for suggestions. They actually do want to hear what we want. Sure some are unrealistic but some great ideas are in the kernel of an unrealistic idea.

honestly, imma keep this response real short, if you are continually angry that others have different opinions than yourself, your never going to live a happy life, stopping/leaving something because others have different opinions than you, will get you nowhere. getting emotional or angry and aggressive in a debate, will also get you nowhere.

be logical, just because someone has a different opinon than you do, that you dont agree with, doesnt make them horrible people.

This games is Single Player. You don't have to play Multiplayer/Online with it, The Sims 4 likewise.

Planet Coaster Alpha is great and really fun. Not everyone is going to agree with you on forums or community. If you've had a bad day, play Planet Coaster. It cheers me up. And plus when you create your own park and be creative in it, you can watch as your peps are having fun and that in a sense brings great satisfaction.
