not gonna lie. It’s the most fun I had in ED since I started playing back in 2018. ( took a long break during odyssey). Didn’t expect the Thargoids war to be this fun despite all the bugs and stability. Sadly ED post Ascendency is still a buggy mess of a game with no patch in sight as Fdev doesn’t like communication and transparency unless it’s involved selling you new ships. Ships sales >>> fixing the game.
So we all know that ED is NOT an mmo but rather a multiplayer game where you join an instance ( assuming instancing works ) with a limited small amount of players, yet the game spawns 6 hydras and countless scouts on you even tho you are a single commander with few NPCs. If you lucky , it takes a squad of 10 commanders and NPCs to take down a single hydra but 6??? Clearly someone at Fdev has no clue how balancing works.
So what end up happening is that everyone leaves because ain’t nobody is going to pay rebuy costs to a guaranteed death by immortal Hydra. Not sure what’s the point at spawning hydras after the objective is completed because 95% of players already left and it’s always the same cookie cutter spawn. Zero randomization.
Anyhow rant over.
TLDR. thargoid war is fun but the game is still a buggy mess worthy of its steam review score.
