I am leaving!

The inhibited space, and finally going for some exploration.

Did a bit of it early on, and apparently even have my name against more than 1000 bodies already, but the time has come to go for proper exploration. Ie, going and not coming back until further notice.

A bit annoying that you have to wait for 10-20 sec to scan the body, but ehh... at the moment better than any other form of play.

Going out in a cobra with 24Ly range, should be enough to move around most places, while not costing too much to repair eventually when I come back. One question that I have is - What happens when your hull goes down to 0, do you die and lose all the credits, or is there still a possibility to come back and cash in?

I think that I read somewhere that some ship attributes go down by 70% and that it is still possible to fly, but if not what would be the right time to pack up and come back, to still have a chance of cashing in?

Hmm, do you mean wear and tear? That can reach 0% in repair screen, and equates to lowering your Hull 'range' from 0 to 100, down to 0 to 70%.
If your hull reaches zero though, you die, and might lose all your cartography data that you haven't sold, I'd check with other explorers.
BTW, be careful out at the edge of the galaxy, you might not like what you find, based on the post I saw last night.

Yes, I was thinking hull itself, the one that shows in the main HUD. Does it not reduce with the travel though, just "wear and tear"?

If so, then one can travel for quite a while as long as you take care not to overheat, btw - which thread about the edge, as there are many threads going around every hour?

I was thinking of uninhibited space myself. Much more fun :p

Good luck!

As a matter of fact, I am planning to pack up my cobra and go out to outer space and see what wonders the galaxy holds for me.

What was the post? Link?

Ah, another explorer joins our noble ranks! It's time we explore and expand for the good of mankind, and the glory of The Empire!

Thanks everyone, I have another question.

Looks like I have already arrived to some stars which have not been explored before, at least they do not have a tag yet - do you know when does your own tag appear?

Ie do you have to exit and re-enter the system, or just wait long enough, as it does not seem that the tag gets made straight after the detailed scan.

You are tagged only if you are first to sell the data.

Thanks everyone, so that's the trick.

Well, then, I guess it is very unlikely that one will come again through a system with your own name on. Does not matter - I will continue tagging. Slowly.

Interdicted 3x while tagging a single system.

I don't mind it that much, as I am armed, but all three times by clean NPC's, even a clean Anaconda, which is kind of pointless, as there are no credits to be earned.
