I am "Looking" to make cash fast

Get 2 Class 2 Pulse Lasers
Get 2 Class 1 Multi-Cannons
Get Class 3 Rating A power distributor
Get Best thrusters available
Get a better power plant
Get a good K-warrant scanner.
Get a heat sink/chaff whatever you think you need

Kill pirates at systems near anarchy systems (Like Eranin which has tens of pirate anacondas from the neighbooring LP-98 system (aka freeport))

Cash earning can be a bit grindy. It helps to have a specific objective. (First world prpblem) I have a tricked out asp that is too expensive to run and insurance runs to 800k. Currently back space trucking in a type 6 until I have a decent Bankroll. I enjoy the relaxation of it. Will be interesting to see the effects of the latest server patch. You can also trade to affect system/faction states & gain rep.

If you want to trade get a type 6. And upgraded cargo bays. 2-3 million plus cash for cargo.

For space fisticuffs get a viper. Cheap to run and upgrade. Buy a warrant scanner for bonus cash for kills. 2 beam lasers and 2 multicannons are an effective combo. Watch power levels though.

Rare commodities are still the best a cobra hold full will net you about 800k every 1.5 hours or so if you can get filled up which takes time. Drop off at a rares station above 150 ly and pick up new stock then repeat.

This. Definitely this. Get a Hauler, upgrade the FSD and just get on with it. The beauty of it is you also get to explore a lot. Of course, I am using the list (google), which some would consider not in the spirit of the game, but you'd never find them on your own.

.....using the list that you bought from a shady guy in a space-bar

@snotface ... User manual has been out for a couple of days now

Personally, i have kitted my cobra out for long range exploration and have found a couple of sources for rare goods. A reasonable source of cash and some long journeys with new systems to honk along the way...

If you can trade inter system you can make a pretty fortune.

This is the best advice.
At first, do some missions to get some cash.
Then explore till you find a system with 2 stations quite close with a possible trade between them.
Then grind. It wont last long.
I had a system after release with 2 stations at 0.10ls with a profit of 1000 cr/t one way 500 cr/t the other. Bought a T6 as soon as possible, clocked a profit of 1.25 million credits per hour. Lasted one week before prices equalized.

Then with some cash gained, you can outfit your cobra and go adventuring without the pressure of making a profit.

Where is this guide?

I've been playing for a few days now, personally I am finding it very difficult to make my first bit of money, the few missions I find available to me on the bulletin board are either simple courier missions that pay out very little or when it's combat missions like 'kill 6 Traders' I either can't find any or get attacked by the NPC police as soon as I think I've found a target and open fire on it...I started in LHS 3447 (or something, can't remember the exact number) and after searching the area quite a bit I finally found a station where I can dock and that has one or two missions for me on the bulletin board...I made like 10k this way yesterday but I can't help but shake the feeling that there ought to be a better way...

Ed is different from most normal games. Missions are mostly for reputation not cash (assassination and the rare large haul missions are exceptions).
To make decent credits you need to trade, bounty hunt or mine. You can make money exploring but I wouldnt bother until you have about 3 Mil for an advanced scanner and a surface scanner.

Making big credits will take patience, practice and learning. Reading the forums here and trying different things will help a lot.

I know the feeling. I do not know what ship you are in but I have been making loads of cash, but by not doing worthless missions for less than 5k at a time. If you were talking to me in game around 3447 I would give you a nice tip, but it may be a good idea to look around the system 3447 to see whats in each station sells and then make money.

Personally I think that chasing cash is not the way to go. No way am I playing a "grind", I just love my ship and being out "in the black". I have yet to make my first million and I have been playing since premium beta. What is the rush?

+1 Same here mate...;-)

I'm still in a Sidewinder. I guess I'll have to see if I can figure out trading then.
