Have you tried GITing?

Apparently that is the only way with GUD.

I haven't GITted yet, don't think I ever will though....

Well, let's face it, how many people are really good at something? A few are exceptionally great, a few are exceptionally poor. The rest are in the middle. I'm definitely one of those mundanely average at the vast majority of things I do and if I trained flat out at something I could be...just slightly above average :D

Git gud... hm... is that when you don't end up in a great fireball solo-pewing an elite corvette in a Vulture?

Don't be desperate, just fight, die, respawn, re-fight, re-die, re-respawn... and after 400-500hours of only combat you get a slight idea of the git and the gud will come along some 400hours later.

It can become difficult to fully immerse yourself once you understand the minutiae of black box mechanics, I prefer to live in the moment & fly by the seat of my pants.

I don't try to kill, I just try not to die. Occasionally I fail ;)

To be fair, nobody is going to be properly good in a two year old game where a significant fraction of your playtime can't be training unless it has a horribly low skill ceiling.
