While it was possible to get the Elite rank and not get that much "profit from exploration," it would not be possible to get 156,500,000 and not get the Elite rank. That is my understanding at any rate. If there is evidence to the contrary, I'd be happy to see it. :)

156,500,000 profits from exploration provides people with an achievable goal to know if they would have gotten the Elite rank or not, regardless of other factors. That's why I think it is an important value. It provides people a quantifiable way of still achieving the "classic" Elite rank, if they want.

Also, I don't use SRVs... :eek:
