I am suddenly unable to rotate benches & other items

Suddenly last night, I was trying to expand my zoo further and as I tried to place new picnic benches, I discovered I am unable to rotate them. I can still place them but can no longer rotate them. The same applies to donation boxes, ATMs and one or two other items.
Is there a limit to item numbers or something else that causes this? My zoo is already a reasonable size, with over 50 animals, but I am nowhere near the size that I have seen others making.

Can anyone please shed light on why this is happening? I really don't want to have to start a new zoo if I can help it.

There really shouldn't be a limit, i have had a zoo with near 400 animals (50+ habitats) and still able to rotate them. Items being placed next to a path edge typically cannot be rotated, or maybe your keyboard locked up and just needs to close the game and relaunch it.

Thanks for the reply. I thought about it being my keyboard, but it really is only certain items, which is very odd - I haven't tested every item, but it affects all benches, picnic benches, bins, ATMs, and some other small items. But umbrellas and other props, and hopefully all other building materials, are still rotating correctly. Restarting the game, and verifying Steam files, have not fixed it. I've submitted a ticket in case Frontier can shed any light.

In the meantime, I'm relieved to learn that I can use the Z key to rotate items, which I was not aware of, and that is still working for benches too.

Very strange, but I'm back to my zoo building using Z instead of X now. Thanks for the reply Captain Callum.

Haha, thank you. I have placed so many of these without even thinking, and this time I was trying to place them against a curved edge, and when it didn't work I somehow forgot that I had never used the rotate function with these items. Doh.

Someone please delete this thread, and drop me in the hole that it leaves.
