I booted up my ol' 64 searching for an Elite Savefile

It was hell flipping thru floppies (which of many had bad sectors) - but finally I found one, that would load.

So I combined this with my mad camera-skillz and produced these Sharp images:

Which model is that?

Just found it: the SX-64. Never came across that one in real life.

Yeah :)

Notice the storage-space besides the screen. Storage those days was apparantly not something to do with kilobytes, but rather a kind of glove-compartment :D

:D Yeah, I read storage and then read drive belief and grinned! I think that space is also where you can chuck your whisky if you find its cheating at Chess! ;)

I wouldn't spend my whisky that way!
The 64 can get sum vodka or beer. I keep the dear W-drops to myself ;)

Oh, I see what you did there- that THING there...

And Morten, you are one among many here.
I played the Commodore 64 Elite till my arms fell off ( - or was that Summer Games?) and became 'Deadly' in the end. Never 'Elite' though, but I managed to find a couple of secret missions and Trumbles too. I can still remember my excitement when I got those new screen messages out of nowhere. A secret mission! WOW, I hope my old cassette player and tape doesn't let me down now, because I had no idea how I got to there or what it took to get those secret missions. All I had was a huge stack of English computer magazines that helped me along and told of possible missions or even hidden Generation ships ( of which there weren't any sadly)
Merry Christmas and may your energy banks never be completely drained.

This is certainly a blast from the past, one of the reasons I play oolite to rekindle that magic. Along with addons that improve textures etc, it certainly fills the gap until Elite: Dangerous arrives in all it's glory. :)

Shok.

Excellent! Really nice pics.
I played C-64 Elite Until Deadly. It was my friends C-64 that I was sharing a house with and I just basically used it all the time he was at work, for months....
:) memories..
