I Bootis D

Hey, what kind of star is I Bootis D? Red dwarf?
It seems to make the area around it darker and I cannot go near without prox alarm.
Maher Prime is nearly that large and is very close to I Bootis D. Is it a Brown Dwarf or just a gas giant?

I recall getting dropped out of SC long before I saw any gravity well warning line. Made me wonder what sort of star would cause that effect.

Do you need a picture of them?

Yup, brown dwarf. There is another one in the Hermitage system. Be pepared, though. Hermitage is interdiction hell. You can't fly 10 light seconds there without someone stopping you. ;)

I was there a couple of days ago, as I wanted to checkout Dustball.
Couldn't get near it, as I kept getting thrown out of SC.:eek:
The tiny Dustball was inbetween the red gas giant and the other planet.

Maybe I need to return, and see if Dustball's orbit has brought it to a better location.

That's part of my trade run - flying in a anaconda they don't even bother with you most the time - Hermitage does look very different than most the systems for sure.

@Andy_Pipkin
I had it on the other side and couldn't reach it either because of emergency drop.

You can realign to another in system object, lock onto it then jump drive, then relock and jump to try approaching from a different angle to the object you first wished to approach;)

I tried something similar, but didn't get closer than a few 1000km....which I didn't want to cover in regular travel mode (only to discover it's nothing but a dustball?).
