Newcomer / Intro I bought the game today and download speed is 0.05 mb/s

I'm so exited to get this game and started launcher. But it's download speed is 0.05 mb/s ?!
Is there any solution for this matter?

then..all players download with that poor speed? my connection speed is 1gb and actuall speed is 10mb/s. I never thought a game that $60 and it's download speed is 0.05 mb/s? How long it will takes to play?!

It's not normal, at least the download manages to saturate my ghetto 13 Mb/s link.

You could open a support ticket including your location, ISP and maybe IP address so Frontier can check their CDN.

Yep, it's realllllllllllly slow.

I've got the same issue - mine was 0.07MB/s, this time last night, and now has stalled completely - it was downloading the manifest for several minutes at least, but I've not progressed from 50% in 24hrs.

I'm on 80Mbps D/L cable, so that's not the problem. I assume the download servers are just getting hammered.

I was wondering whether I could get a torrent of the files elsewhere, unzip them to the directory, and then let the launcher sync do a hash check and replace just files which are user/system-unique. Nope, I'm not trying to get a freebie - I paid out on the kickstarter over a year ago, and am a fully paid up user; I just want a solution so that I can actually play the damn game.

Ticket opened BTW

What anti-virus are you running?

I had similar issues with mine in that the download stalled completely after a few minutes. It turns out that my Kaspersky "Banner Blocker" was causing the issue. I switched this off and the download then started running normally.

I have no any anti virus and also I diabled firewall but download speed was not improved. I had no problem with download from overseas before.

I opend a ticket. I waiting a reply from support.

If you have a steam game then try starting it. It doesn't work for everyone, but for some reason my download speed increases a lot when I do this, although I have no idea why. Worked for some others too.

cookiehole replied "As far as I know there isn't a solution.
I often have much slower download speeds in ED than my connection would allow too. While waiting you could watch the tutorials on YouTube to geht an easier start. ;)

and now you say play a steam game? are you guys kidding me?

Nope. Have you tried it?

Having said that if you don't want any friendly advice then feel free to not ask for it.

I think every time this has occurred it was down to Anti Virus or some other software on the PC concerned, that is from memory as far back as Premium Beta.

Bought this morning as well, getting download speed of 0.02 and 0! Turned everything inc antivirus and still low DL speed. Sat at 1/3 downloaded of the single player training, so cancelled that and trying to do the whole game at between 0.06 and 0 again...problems their end?

That's interesting, I downloaded the game on release day, and it took about half hour... not sure what your issue is? If you're logged into Steam or Origin quit them and anything else that might be taking bandwith.

Thanks mbabbs. I tried you replied before and it didn't work. But thanks for a reply.

What country are you in? I have seen a lot of posts about very slow connections but I have yet to be able to see a pattern. My only guess is that some people are very far from the patch servers but I know FD use Amazon so they should be fairly well distributed.

I have a fibre connection and my speeds tend to start of pretty low (<1Mb) and then after a few seconds it is blisteringly fast.

short answer no... and it has nothing to do with your connect speed, it's simply the frontier servers are overloaded. be patient, it took mine about 27 hours to download main + patches. best of luck

It could be because the servers are (reportedly) experiencing issues right now, or perhaps they are just saturated. It is prime playing time in ED's home country. But then again, the download server is probably entirely separate from the actual game servers...
