I can't find the planetary exploration mentor

According to the "welcome commander" mission text the planetary exploration mentor can be found in Kuo City at Aulin, but he isn't there. I have done the signal scanning mentor mission so I know what to look for - he just isn't there. Has anyone found him?

Pardon me for bumping my own thread but I find it hard to believe that either nobody has had this issue or nobody has even attempted to find this mentor. Are there no comments at all from anyone?

It's a fair question. How do you find any of them? I didn't even get my welcome mission... Is there a way to retrigger them?

Without completing the Welcome mission it's a bit difficult as it's at the end of that that you get a list of other mentors to visit.

From all I've read today it unfortunately seems like it's a question of luck as to whether the missions are triggered for you. For what it's worth, the whole "welcome commander" chain is played out in the comms panel, second tab from the right where all mission-critical text is displayed. Have you looked there?

Ahh I guess they never triggered then, I'll have to start a new commander later just to try them though as I feel like I missed out.

For me they triggered without I even noticed. As the starter station is in lockdown, I just headed out and went somewhere else.
After doing a first delivery mission, I noticed that I had unread messages in the comms panel, which then turned out to be the 'Welcome Commander' mission that nets you 10K if you fly to the assigned location.
This mission stays active for 5 or 6 days it seems, so if you got it (without maybe knowing it), you could still do it and get the mentor list.

Is it in your messages? The second tab from the right on the comms panel.

They are (supposedly) four different unique missions that introduce you to: trade (actually mining), combat, planetary activities and exploration. The planetary one is bugged and doesn't work. As for the others, you're not missing out on anything if you just watch video tutorials or something instead. It isn't like the rewards are great or anything.

@huwie, yes I too had this problem. The first tutor which I think was the trade one completed successfully but then travelling to the planetary tutor just never showed up in the mission screen. In the end for me I just cleared my save and started again, second playthrough was ok and all tutors appeared correctly. Luckily I hadn't done much in the game so clearing the save wasn't such of a loss.
