Fair enough but let me point one thing out for you.
The game is six years old and has changed hugely during that time. For many of the external sites and in particular youtube videos, it's not that they are 'lying' or even 'incomplete'. It's that things have changed since those videos were made. If you run a channel with 18 million subscribers, I assume you're fairly dedicated to producing content for whatever games you cover. Not everybody is - a lot of the Elite community might make a helpful video occasionally but they aren't necessarily full-time content creators, or just don't have time to constantly review and revise old content every time something changes in the game. Which is fairly often.
I wish you luck with the game and hope you can find some enjoyment in it. Back when I started playing 5 years ago it was simpler for sure and I've said before that I think I'd be a bit overwhelmed by the sheer amount of stuff in it today if I was coming to it as a completely new player.
