Newcomer / Intro I can't use my controls

Hello,






Today I have an issue , in the training I can play with my control ThurstMaster Hotas Warthog


but now I can not use my controls in solo play, the problem starts when I am in the middle of the games, I edit my controls and apply and back to the game
when I am in the game at the moment I can not move to left or right, up or down, and when I push the throttle, I see the indicator goes up to increase
but the aircraft does not move, the other function works ok, like to deploy landing gear, so the problem is just I can not move aircraft, Roll, yaw




very strange, when I exit the game and back to the tutorial and play some turorial , I can use my controls as usual,


so this is what I have done, I exit the game, and delete all the binds at (c:\Users\JohnUK\AppData\Local\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\Bindings\)


and I start the game, and back to solo play ,still the same result, what should I do now?

Check if you have thrusters online.
Maybe it's rather a ship's problem, not of controls.

There could be several reasons. You don't have enough power, you accidentally bought thrusters that are too weak to move the ship...

yes thrusters is online, when I increase the throttle, I can see that it is coming up, but the ships does not move, at all

Never a good idea to start deleting game files in my experience .... I would put all your controls back to default .....

I did it, I thought I will get the controls back to default, after I can not move my ship, a few menutes ago, I check again if I have the thrusters online, it is online, the point is, when I go to tutorial, I can use my controls no problem at all,
only when I go to play solo or open play, the ship just not move. any idea,

Have you made sure your controller is selected in the options in controls in the game, not the training.

yes good point , check options / controls again when you are in solo.... otherwise it does sound like thrusters are off in right ui panel/ modules... i accidently turned mine off instead of kws....throttle slides back and forth in hud but no go....

yes, it fixed commanders thanks for your help, I am up and running now, just another question about controls which still puzzeling me, when I edit controls and apply and back to the game, but later on I want to edit again, which profile is actually the previous profile, is it costums , can anyone confirm this, please.

If you make changes in any profile, it becomes "custom" If you want to revert changes, you have to load some of the preset profiles and then make changes again.

Look to see if your thruster is red. I had mine shot up and I could not move. I had to self destruct.

do you mean if I wanto edit my previous profile, in this case , I go to option,controls, normally it is costum, so I can edit it direct in costum and when it is done, just click apply and done, is it correct.

Correct. You can set up whatever you want.
If you mess up, you can load the original profile and start over.

Thanks, it helps me a lot,as I am new for this game, can you explain to me how to keep my destination in front of me, so far I have to Roll and yaw to get straight to my destanation until I see that it save then I press J to get close to dock.

Well, that's kind of what you do. There is no autopilot. You have to constantly correct and tweak your course.
The thing is, with the speeds at which we are moving, even a degree off means we miss the target by a dozens of light seconds.

Ok it means I need practice, ;-), so I'd like to go back about the Profile, when the profile works ok, I can saved that costum profile just in case, is it correct?

You can make a backup copy of Bindings file and keep it safe, somewhere.
That's the easiest way.

I have a similar problem but in addition my joystick stops functioning, my mouse struggles to move, i cant access anything, very slow all round.
when i log out of open or solo the conyrols speed up again.
its been lile this since just before game launch when i bought the game and i havent been able to play or enjoy the game at all.
HELP please! !!
