General / Off-Topic I couldn't decide...

Every night when I play Elite (in VR) I put on a well worn movie for company in the background.

Today I couldn't decide between War or Sci Fi. So I chose to watch Aliens. A good compromise no?!

My Top 5 Favourite War movies:

A Bridge Too Far
Battle of the River Plate
Kelly's Heroes
Where Eagles Dare
Blackhawk Down

Top 5 Sci-Fi:
Dune
Aliens
Interstellar
The Martian
Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back

We need more 2D animated films.

Western productions that is. Not a fan of anime these days.

I can only comment on sci-fi, try 'Moon'.

A top five isn't enough!

No, it never is. :D

Folks, including myself, frequently say "My favorite movie is....." but then in the next breath follow on with "but then there's ......", so even the number one slot needs mutliples.

I have been trying to change my line to "ONE of my favorite's is......".

So I would have to say that Band of Brothers is one of my favorite war movies (technically a mini-series I guess), along with Full Metal Jacket. But if I go and look at my movie shelves I would point out five more very worthy disks and then sit back down with no movie in hand since the decision on what to watch would be more difficult than I had anticipated.

Same with Sci-Fi. Do I go with Star Wars: A New Hope? Or Star Trek: TOS? Or one of another twenty disks?

Needless to say I don't watch many movies/disks. Or even TV for that matter since 95% of it is utter crap.
