I`d be prasing this gam,e a LOT more if it wasn`t for the nickel and diming, especially the paid Beta.

Seriously, I REALLY like this game. I like how it plays, I like it`s more mature ethos. I love seeing new and interesting planets, phenomenons, landing on planets. I like the varied jobs, the ships, how it all works. I think the whole space station stuff is excellent; the smooth rolling of the station as you request docking, Interdiction mechanic, the sounds, etc, etc, etc...

Just seriously be less so-obviously greedy with the penny pinching (especially the paid Beta for those of us who actually bought the whole thing) and the sslightly sour taste in my mouth would turn to sweet icecream.

Charging for Beta now is consistent with how it was during development: £200 for Alpha access; £100 for Premium Beta access and £50 for Standard Beta access - all prior to the launch of the game.

£120 pre-horizons for the lifetime pass; if I read the small print right, that should be everything, for the life of the game. It also mention a free Cobra; but that is life for you.

The problem is, as Maynard put it, that people paid for such things in beta. Same as with the Cobra MK4. I wouldnt mind if everyone got it (for the record, I have one), but I know for sure many will go ape as it would be 'unfair' to them as they paid money for it. There was already a big argument about whether us plebs should be allowed to buy access to beta rather than have it be exclusively for the Golden Boys, giving access to everyone for free would lead to some meltdown around here.

IMHO its petty, but technically they have a point. To give another perspective on how petty things can get: people were furious when they realised they only unlocked the Cobra mk4 but actually had to pay the 800k cr or so for it in-game. Plenty of folks demanded support they would get it for free, and at some point you actually could get 800k added to your account manually by them for a brief period of time. These guys wont let anyone have fun if it makes them less special. :p

I seem to remember, at one point early on, the additional lifetime expansion pass could be bought for about £35.

I kind of made a big thing about the 'free cobra' at the time and they DID change the write up on the subject. I don't think it should ever have been an exclusive and did not see it as such, when I brought the L.P. I have never gone as far and demanding my 800K credits back; but now that you mention it? :D

I got into beta for the original launch when it hit £50 - very good value - was less than a console game and got me a head start in the game when it went live - I have no idea if I have access to current or future beta's nor would I want it - totally spoils the game - want to keep it a fresh experience when it comes out.
If they paid me I might play it - stuff does need tested, but as I work in IT all day, last thing I want to do in the evening is debug a game - if folk are daft enough to line up and pay for this - good luck to them.
- never did buy a cobra 4 - it looks funny and is way too slow - I mean a "slow" Cobra - what the heck's that all about ?

Indeed - I found an article on it - it was only available at that price up to 29th July 2014 - then it was removed from sale.

Right. I came at 14.july.2014 to elite website, but waited one month until I desided, that I want to have it.
Then Support said me LEP wasn't available anymore.

I use my access for maybe a couple of days; basically just to test my next must have ship; due to the 10% costs etc.

The words Cobra and slow, never went together until now. I brought one, eventually and made it my passenger runner. It paid the cost of buying and fitting my FDL, so it is not that bad.

OP's ire is at the penny pinching, I assume they mean the charging for cosmetic items on the store?

Why is that nickel and diming, none of the store add-ons including Beta access affects the game in any way , ie. a yellow lasered Python with a vibrant ship kit does not give any player kitting one out any advantage in game.

Nickel and Diming is when you shill someone for something they need, not a luxury item they might have.

So put your avaricious eyes back in your head, realise that you get nothing for free and play the game.

Whinge about things that don't work or could be made better, not post more whiney rubbish about I want free ship kits or Beta access or Holo-me tattoos, it just casts you as a selfish, self centred fool.

If you dont buy a nameplate in the store when 2.3 hits no-one will be able to see your shipname. So one of the features of 2.3 is entirely dependent on your buying something in the store, if they go ahead as planned. Something to consider...

What about basic name plates?

It is good to read you like the game. It gives me a warm feeling that you peasants can have fun as well, that fun is not only something for the rich. That thankfulness is nowhere to be seen doesn't bother me at all, I understand the causality.

Why do the same 6 or 7 players come on here daily, sometimes twice so, complaining about the same things over and over and over? For the "good of the game" right?
How about something original once in a while.
