I did good (I think)!

Definetly the way to go for most of us, nice played OP. I can't help but miss some of the "friendship" that's clearly present in another game I'm currently playing: Ascent, the space game. Not much to do with Elite, it focuses on building and not on fliying ships, but the community is more than happy to lend you a hand. Few players, unified chat, and enforced PvE only are clear reasons why this is happening, but to me, it just feels comfy and relaxing, knowing that everybody around is helpful and everything you do only helps the community as a whole.

Well, he is now flying around in a Cobra III. Not bad after 4 days in the game. I was playing yesterday when another commander issued a local all "Anybody want to wing up with me. I have a T9, so trading will earn you trade vouchers of 30Kcr". I wish I noted down their name, so I could rep them.

This is the kind of thing I try and do and will be doing once I'm done exploring
-
Those first experiences are what drive people to play the way they do, if people are being attacked from the word go they will likely develop the same outlook and attack weaker ships when they become powerful
-
So hopefully he will remember the experience and decide to do the same one day

We can change people's toxic internet behaviour, one act of kindness at a time.

Kudos to you! I have done similar charitable things in other games (World of Warcraft mainly), and you are right it does give a lot of satisfaction. Being a war game, most of the time was spent killing your enemies, but spending a few hours being 'good' was certainly beneficial for my personal Karma. Carry on Cmdr :)

Lol is it me or is this a bit odd. I thought it was a pretty obvious thing that helping people is not only rewarding, satisfying and happiness boosting, but also one of the leading ways to make friends?

I don't know it just comes across as some new unexpected discovery, a revelation lol

Anyway you have my rep because this kind of activity needs encouraging for sure
