I did the recent materials "exploit"

I wanted Tungsten for some ammo boost synthesis, so this came at the right time.

Basically, it saved me time, that's it, nothing more. I don't have super skillz, I'm not invisible or have infinite health, I'm just 2 hours younger.

And that's OK.

Now, y'all have any of those Mercury "exploits" hanging around? Cheers!

There's no such thing as "exploiting" in ED.

Its preferential term is usually called "saving time".

That's a different exploit. The exploit specifically mentioned is the one that allows the same objects in the same instance to be repeatedly farmed.

Only one question: Did you have fun doing so, a good gaming experience, some "quality game time"?

If yes, everything is fine.
If not, no time was "saved" at all.

Whereas, when I stumble across one, I'm like, "neat!" and go about figuring out how to maximize it, and I find that enjoyable. Different strokes.

Then I take those funds gained as such and put them into my rebuy escrow.

Is this the cargo pod thing?

I've been tempted as I'm only a couple materials short on some things, very tempting indeed

I've never gamed the system in Elite thus far but when you see a sure fire way to get those mats it is surely tempting. Normally I just come back to engineers every so often and without having thought about the process can often get some upgrades.

As long as we have multiple safe modes to escape the consequences of a dangerous galaxy that people can and do access at the touch of a button, I think I'll refrain from hoisting myself up onto ye old soap box where I can publicly opine on my displeasure of exploity stuff. Take away group and solo, or at least remove their ability to effect the goings on of Open, and then we can talk about exploits. As long as players have the means to and are encouraged to mode switch, I think it's best to just pipe right down on the subject.

I did it too and tbh I got better drops from a pretty standard metal rich planet I know very near where I live.

And I didn't get stuck on cargo racks and rubbish all the time. That place btw is a hilly hell hole and there are much better persistent Anaconda wrecks around.

Just sayin'!!!
